So, yesterday was National Cupcake Day! How did I not know this until after the event? I feel that I have failed my cupcake culture. It’s almost Christmas, and so much is going on – well that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.
As I didn’t actually make any cupcakes yesterday, I thought I would share some amazing cupcakes we had this weekend.
This weekend, we were lucky enough to leave the sunny shores of California and head to LAS VEGAS! Whilst there, we came across Sweet Surrender at the Palazzo. After a long day of walking down the strip, who could say no to a cupcake? The sugar called us in.
So, what did we try? As a keen chocoholic, the hubby went for Chocolate Fudge, and drawn to something different, I went for Black Forest.
First, the Black Forest. I was pleasantly surprised, the cupcake was very, light and despite my pre-conceptions, the Black Forest flavor wasn’t over-powering. The frosting was AMAZING! I need to know how to make this!! It was a light, creamy and complemented the cupcake perfectly.
For the Chocolate Fudge, well it was gone so quickly it must have been good! Note to self, I need to learn to ask other people for reviews whilst eating.
Cupcake lovers – If you happen to be in Las Vegas, I would definitely recommend a visit into Sweet Surrender. If you win in the Casino’s on your way in – maybe you could try the $750 Decadence D’Or.
